Ok, it’s Friday and time for Used Car Face-Off again...I know I half promised that I would do Saab vs Volvo wagons for this week but since last week was already Euro wagons I decided to go with a different route... Instead, today’s pick is three, well worn but still drivable American land barges from the 90’s...two are RWD V8s from a bygone era and one is a FWD V6, a setup that has grown into popularity today but is usually not the enthusiast’s choice...let’s review the options...

The epitome of a large American sedan. Huge, somewhat luxurious, and boxy. Is it worth $2000?

And now for something completely different. Yes, this wasn’t Chrysler’s best era, but Concordes were known to be rather good, and its very similar cousin, the LHS, was highly praised by none other than !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , so that has to mean something...
Despite this, I would definitely go Caprice myself...our family had one as a road trip car when I was younger and it was incredibly comfy and relaxed on the highway...not only that, but its fuel filler is behind the license plate! Anyways, here’s your chance to choose: vote below!

I like the 92-97 Crown Vic design better than the later Panthers

Caprice, if it’s an LT1. Looks like a 4.3L.

Second. The Caprice is massive, you're gonna want an LT1.

the Caprice has a hood ornament so it’s the winner haha

I vote Concorde but only because you linked to one of my posts. Also, that video in said post was removed from YouTube.

Saw that, but I figured your commentary on the matter was sufficient... :)

Another sedan for another day...I plan on putting that against a DeVille and a LeSabre or something in a GM luxury sedans of the 2000s edition...

You have fingers longer than ET! I go for the Caprice. I saw this today. Buick Roadmaster Estate. What a boat. Not my pic.

What is implied by fingers longer than ET? There was also a Caprice wagon on Craigslist, which was very tempting...

The perspective that the camera gives your hand covering the license plate. Nothing bad.

Lol that’s not me...just the image off the CL listing...although some do say I have long fingers which helps me as a violinist...

Kill them all.
With Fire.
And then nuke from orbit just to be safe.
(But have the firefighters put out the Caprice first)

That would be a plus. Do you play professionally?
![]() 08/07/2015 at 23:46 |

I take it you’d like the Caprice...

Video’s blocked :/

Not at all. I’m only a student but I’ve been playing since I was 4, making it about 11 years so far...not planning on going into it professionally though, since even though I enjoy it it’s not a major draw for me...

Very cool. I learned in like 6th grade for 2 years. Wish I had been more serious and stuck with it. (That was when there was still music classes in schools).

Unfortunately. :( EssExTee - Now with vitamin E39! who was the original author of that post already told me, but nothing can be done. Check the Wikipedia article, that cites his book as the source...

I think our elementary schools still have a music program, but since both my parents are professionally trained musicians they started me before that...

If the Caprice was local, I’d be buying it right damn now.

It looks like the caprice has analog gauges which is an identifier of an lt1, but you can't see the gauges clearly, so my eyes might be tricking me into seeing what I want to see
![]() 08/08/2015 at 12:14 |

They look digital to me...I see a big glossy box in the middle of the cluster that looks like a digital speedometer. But my brother had a Caprice wagon with an LT1, and I seem to recall that having digital gauges, so all hope might not be lost.

I can see it now, before I was on mobile so the image was much smaller. Also I assumed since the Roadmaster had analog gauges the LT1 Caprices would too, so I guess my comment from before was 100% incorrect.
